As a Senior Wealth Advisor and a Principal of The Colony Group, Rick brings over 15 years of experience in financial planning for high net worth clients on investments, retirement, education funding, insurance, taxes, and estate planning. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
Rick spent three years as an adjunct professor in the Financial Planning Program at Boston University. He has lectured about personal finance at local universities, including Boston University and Harvard Law School.
Rick has been quoted in publications including Money Magazine, the Boston Business Journal, the San Diego Business Journal, the Jewish Advocate, and the Boston Metro and has been a guest on Bob McCormick’s Money 101 show on KNX news radio in Los Angeles. He was included in Boston Magazine‘s list of “Five Star Wealth Managers” in 2010, 2011, and 2016-2020*.
Previously, Rick was part of the team at Mintz Levin Financial Advisors. He graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts with a BA in Economics and received both his MBA and his MS in Finance from Boston College.
Five Star Professional criteria: Credentialed as an IAR, FINRA-registered rep, a CPA, or a licensed attorney; at least five years in the financial services industry; favorable regulatory and complaint history review; meeting firm’s review standards; accepting new clients; one and five-year retention rates; assets administered; number of households served; and education and professional designations.
