Zinovy is the President and Chief Services Officer of The Colony Group. He oversees and supports all service and revenue functions for the firm including wealth management, investment management, business management, institutional consulting and tax services. As part of his role, Zinovy develops and implements firm level strategic initiatives and improvements with cross-functional leaders. Additionally, he oversees Colony’s merger efforts including sourcing, execution and integration.

Prior to joining The Colony Group, Zinovy spent over 15 years as an M&A professional. Most recently he was a Principal with Focus Financial Partners, a partnership of independent wealth management firms which Colony joined in 2011. At Focus, Zinovy co-headed the firm’s business development and acquisition activities in the Northeast and provided partner firms with strategic guidance and support on organic and inorganic growth strategies.

Previously, Zinovy worked in investment banking covering the financial services industry at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods (KBW) and UBS Investment Bank. Additionally, he worked at KBW Capital Partners, a financial services focused private equity fund.

Zinovy received his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science from Lehigh University. In his free time, Zinovy enjoys spending time outdoors and skiing and with his family.

Analyzing the ADVs of all SEC-registered investment advisors, WMIQ and Discovery looked at AUM growth, ratio of employees to clients, ratio of advisors to clients, percentage of advisors with CFP certification, and average client account size. Qualifying firms were limited to those that provide financial planning services, have high-net-worth individuals as more than half of their client base, and manage at least $250 million in assets.
